The Ministry of Minority Affairs is implementing the Pradhan Mantri Virasat Ka Samvardhan (PM VIKAS) scheme as a Central Sector Scheme to improve the socio-economic and educational status of six notified minority communities across India. The scheme is implemented through eligible Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs), including government institutions, Central and State PSUs, minority community institutions, and Institutions of National Importance and Eminence selected by the Ministry for components such as skilling and training, leadership and entrepreneurship, and education.
Under the PM VIKAS Scheme, a total of 59 PIAs have been allocated a target of 1.56 lakh beneficiaries across 31 States/UTs. The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) was specifically allocated a target of 31,600 candidates. Training has been completed for 32,138 candidates under the scheme, with 11,217 beneficiaries from the Sikh community comprising 5,655 men and 5,562 women.
Additionally, under various loan schemes of the National Minority Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC), an amount of ₹15.19 crore has been disbursed to 972 beneficiaries belonging to the Sikh community during financial year 2025–26.
