The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers' Department of Pharmaceuticals disclosed detailed information about Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) manufacturing units established in Telangana state under two Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes. Under the PLI Scheme for promotion of domestic manufacturing of critical Key Starting Materials (KSMs)/Drug Intermediates (DIs) and APIs, thirteen projects have been approved in Telangana, distributed across four districts: Nalgonda (5 units), Sangareddy (5 units), Yadadri Bhuvanagiri (2 units), and Medak (1 unit).

Additionally, under the separate PLI Scheme for Pharmaceuticals, sixteen approved applicants are manufacturing APIs across forty-eight production units established in Telangana. These units are distributed across eight districts: Sangareddy (25 units), Hyderabad (5 units), Yadadri Bhuvanagiri (5 units), Medchal-Malkajgiri (4 units), Nalgonda (4 units), Medak (2 units), Rangareddy (2 units), and Kamareddy (1 unit). Combined, both schemes support sixty-one API manufacturing units in Telangana state.
