The Ministry of Textiles has announced Special Campaign 6, which will run from October 2 to October 31, 2026, as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative. The campaign focuses on Swachhata (cleanliness), reducing pendency in government activities, and specifically emphasizes effective collection, segregation, and disposal of e-waste generated in government offices.
The campaign is structured in three phases: a preparatory phase from September 15-30, 2026, where ministries identify targets including pending references from MPs, state governments, inter-ministerial references, PMO, parliamentary assurances pending for more than 3 months, public grievances and appeals, record management through review of files/recording and weeding of files/closing of e-files; an implementation phase from October 2-31, 2026, where offices actively clean up spaces, dispose of waste, and resolve pending files; and an evaluation phase from November 16-30, 2026, to review and measure results across all ministries. Daily progress information will be provided on the dedicated monitoring portal https://scdpm.nic.in/specialcampaign6/.
The campaign builds on the achievements of Special Campaign 5, during which the Ministry of Textiles conducted a comprehensive review of 19,376 physical files, resulting in 6,264 physical files being weeded out and 274 e-files closed. This process freed up 25,498 square feet of space and generated revenue of ₹11.35 lakh from the disposal of scrap and redundant materials. The ministry cleaned 200 sites, resolved 63 VIP references, and achieved 100% of its target by addressing 44 public grievances that were pending at the start of the campaign.
The Ministry of Textiles is committed to advancing the goals of previous campaigns and will apply the same level of dedication to make Special Campaign 6 equally successful in improving the experience of citizens with government offices.
