President Donald Trump plans to nominate Fed Minneapolis adviser Chris Phelan as White House chief economist.
He would replace Stephen Miran, who left in February for a Fed board seat, with acting head Pierre Yared.
Confirmation by the Senate is required before Phelan can assume the role as chair of the Council of Economic Advisers.
