U.S. markets slipped, with Dow down 83 points (0.2%), S&P 500 down 25 points (0.4%) and Nasdaq down 132 points (0.5%).
Oil prices surged, Brent up 5.1% to $95.02/barrel and WTI up 6.1% to $87.64 amid renewed US‑Iran tensions.
Gold fell 0.5% to $4,807.42/oz as higher oil and a stronger dollar raised inflation concerns.
