UK announced its first G7 trade agreement with the Gulf Cooperation Council, projected to boost the economy by £3.7 bn annually.
The deal will eliminate £580 m in annual duties, with £360 m of tariff cuts taking effect immediately upon implementation.
Tariff‑free access granted to UK exports such as cereals, cheddar cheese, chocolate and butter, enhancing trade opportunities.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer hailed the agreement as a win for British businesses and workers amid leadership challenges and Iran‑war pressures.
