Government Digital Service Platforms Show Significant Growth

The Ministry of Electronics & IT provided an update on the expansion of citizen-centric digital public service delivery through UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance) and DigiLocker platforms as part of the Digital India programme launched in July 2012015. As of 31st July 2026, the UMANG platform offers approximately 2,575 services across India, comprising 880 Central Government services and 1,695 State Government services. The platform has achieved more than 11.66 crore registered users and recorded about 798 crore transactions over the last three years.

DigiLocker platform provides access to 5,437 document types and services, with 661 from Central Government and 4,776 from State Governments. The platform has reached more than 72.43 crore registered users and processed approximately 72.86 crore document access transactions in the last three years.

The government has expanded the network of Common Service Centres (CSCs) to improve digital access in rural and remote areas, with 4,07,122 CSCs functional at the Gram Panchayat level as of 30 June 2026. Notably, 70,069 of these CSCs are operated by women Village Level Entrepreneurs. These centres provide comprehensive citizen-centric digital services including government, banking, financial, insurance, pension, and utility payment services.

Key measures supporting digital access include mobile and web-based access through applications and portals, integration with Digital Public Infrastructure components such as Aadhaar, eSign, and API Setu, secure authentication and paperless governance features, digital literacy initiatives through PMGDISHA, multilingual services in multiple Indian languages, and continuous expansion through regular onboarding of government departments and state governments.
