Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare and Rural Development Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan concluded a day-long visit to Patna focused on agricultural reforms and rural development initiatives. The visit included multiple programs highlighting the central government's achievements under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership over the past 12 years.

During the visit, Minister Chouhan met with Bihar Chief Minister Shri Samrat Choudhary to review agriculture, farmer welfare, and rural development schemes, with emphasis on increasing farmers' income through better center-state coordination and effective implementation of schemes. The meeting also focused on strengthening rural infrastructure for long-term benefits.

Key statistical achievements highlighted during the visit include: foodgrain production increasing by 71% to reach record levels, over 4 crore people receiving pucca houses, and 3 crore women becoming 'Lakhpati Didis' through government programs. The Minister specifically cited the Prime Minister Fasal Bima Yojana and PM-KISAN (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi) as transformative schemes for farmer welfare.

The visit included direct dialogue with farmers through the 'Khet Bachao Abhiyan' in Naubatpur, where Minister Chouhan stressed awareness regarding balanced use of chemical fertilizers, soil testing, Kisan Credit Card benefits, and other government schemes. The Minister stated that the Central Government's priority is "prosperous farmers, empowered villages and self-reliant India" and emphasized that this vision is being implemented effectively through coordination with state governments.
