The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs is organizing the Prize Distribution Function for the 17th National Youth Parliament Competition, 2024-25 for Universities and Colleges on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, from 3:00 PM onwards at the GMC Balayogi Auditorium in the Parliament Library Building, New Delhi. Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law and Justice and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, will preside over the function and distribute prizes to winning universities/colleges and students.
The University of Kashmir, Jammu & Kashmir, which secured first place nationally, will stage a repeat performance of their Youth Parliament Sitting during the event. The competition, organized among 51 universities/colleges across the country, represents the 17th edition in a series that the Ministry has been conducting for 29 years. The scheme aims to inculcate democratic values among youth, including self-discipline, tolerance of diverse opinions, and effective expression of views, while familiarizing them with parliamentary procedures and developing leadership and oratory skills.
The University of Kashmir will receive the "Atal Bihari Vajpayee Running Parliamentary Shield" and Trophy for their first-place finish. Additionally, seven group-level winners will also receive trophies: DAV College, Jalandhar, Punjab; Jadavpur University, Kolkata, West Bengal; Shivaji University, Kolhapur, Maharashtra; Central University of Punjab, Bathinda; SSMRV College, Bengaluru, Karnataka; Chanakya National Law University, Patna, Bihar; and Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana.
