UP Family ID Now Available on DigiLocker Platform
The Ministry of Electronics & IT announced the integration of UP Family ID with DigiLocker, India's flagship digital document wallet under the Digital India programme. This integration enables over 6 crore residents of Uttar Pradesh to access, store, and share their household credentials digitally through the DigiLocker platform from their phones or computers.
The digital UP Family ID serves as a verified, legally valid document that eliminates the need for carrying or photocopying physical Family ID cards. Citizens can use this digital credential to instantly apply for and avail various State welfare schemes including scholarships and pensions, making the process faster, paperless, and available 24/7.
The UP Family ID functions as Uttar Pradesh's key household identifier, linking each family to their entitled welfare benefits. By hosting it on DigiLocker, the document is now available on the same trusted platform that citizens already use for other critical documents such as Aadhaar, PAN, driving licence, and academic certificates.
Access Process
Citizens can retrieve their UP Family ID on DigiLocker through four simple steps: first, open the DigiLocker app or visit digilocker.gov.in and sign in; second, search for "Family ID Uttar Pradesh"; third, enter the required details and provide consent; fourth, fetch the document which is instantly saved to their DigiLocker account.
This integration represents the shared commitment of the Government of Uttar Pradesh and DigiLocker to build a citizen-centric digital ecosystem that promotes transparency, efficiency, and ease of access to public services.
