The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the results of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2026 held on May 24, 2026. A total of 13,343 candidates have qualified for admission to the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2026, which is conducted against 1,016 notified vacancies. This represents a decrease from the previous year when 14,161 candidates were shortlisted for 1,087 vacancies.

Qualified candidates must complete several mandatory procedures between June 19 and June 28, 2026, including submission of a Rs. 200 examination fee (except for female, PwBD, SC, and ST candidates who are exempt), updating scribe details and assistive device requirements if applicable, and filling cadre preferences. All qualified candidates must login to https://upsconline.nic.in during this window to confirm details and generate their e-Admit Card, without which they cannot participate in further examination stages.

The Commission has clarified that marks, cut-off marks, and answer keys for the Preliminary Examination will be published on https://upsc.gov.in only after the entire examination process for both Civil Services Examination 2026 and Indian Forest Service Examination 2026 is complete and final results are declared.
