The Union Public Service Commission has announced the results of the Combined Section Officers' (Grade 'B') Limited Departmental Competitive Examination, 2025. The examination was held in December 2025, with evaluation of service records completed in June 2026. The results include category-wise merit lists of candidates recommended for inclusion in the Select List year 2025 for five services: Section Officers' Grade of the Central Secretariat Service (Category I), Section Officers' Grade of the Railway Board Secretariat Service (Category III), Section Officers' Grade of the Intelligence Bureau (Category VIII), Section Officers in Armed Forces Headquarters Civil Service (Category X), and Assistant Director/Section Officers/Manager Gr. I in Employees' State Insurance Corporation (Category XI).

Vacancy and recommendation details show that for Category I (Central Secretariat Service), 280 candidates were recommended against 283 vacancies, including 228 General, 31 SC, and 21 ST candidates, with specific reservations for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD). For Category III (Railway Board Secretariat Service), 20 candidates were recommended against 22 vacancies. Category VIII (Intelligence Bureau) saw 69 recommendations against 72 vacancies. Category X (Armed Forces Headquarters Civil Service) had all 8 vacancies filled with 8 recommendations. Category XI (ESIC) received 27 recommendations against 29 vacancies.

The results of 17 candidates (9 in Category-I, 4 in Category-III, 1 in Category-VIII, and 3 in Category-XI) have been kept in sealed cover pending final selection decisions based on Department of Personnel & Training guidelines issued vide O.M. No. 36012/2016/2019-Estt (Res.) dated 12.04.2022, subject to the final outcome of Civil Appeal No. 629 of 2022. Additionally, Category III results are provisional pending the outcome of O.A. No. 215/2022 before the Central Administrative Tribunal regarding the seniority list of Assistant Section Officers' Grade of RBSS.

Candidates can obtain information/clarification at UPSC's Facilitation Counter on working days between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM, either in person or via telephone numbers 011-23385271 and 011-23381125. The results are available on the UPSC website (www.upsc.gov.in), with marks to be published within fifteen days from the result declaration date.
