The United States and Iran are negotiating a three‑page plan that could involve a $20 billion exchange of frozen assets.
Under the proposal, the U.S. would release $20 billion of Iranian funds in return for surrendering roughly 2,000 kg of enriched uranium.
The stockpile includes about 450 kg enriched to 60 % purity, stored in underground nuclear facilities that the U.S. aims to neutralize.
Negotiations also address how the released funds may be used and the procedures for disposing of the uranium material.
