The Ministry of Panchayati Raj provided an update on the implementation of the SVAMITVA Scheme in Uttar Pradesh as of July 13, 2026. The scheme has completed drone surveys in all 90,573 notified villages across the state. A total of 1.01 crore property cards have been distributed to property owners covering approximately 67,000 villages, while 1.20 crore property cards have been prepared covering nearly 75,000 villages, representing approximately 83% of the notified villages in Uttar Pradesh.
The SVAMITVA Scheme aims to provide Record of Rights to property owners in rural inhabited (abadi) areas using drone-based surveys and Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) technology for accurate mapping and property demarcation. The process includes ground verification and resolution of objections and disputes by competent State authorities before the issuance of Property Cards, ensuring transparency and fair demarcation of rural properties.
The scheme has been extended until September 2026 to continue its implementation. This information was formally disclosed by Union Minister Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh in a written reply presented in the Lok Sabha on July 21, 2026.
