Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal announced significant export growth targets for Uttar Pradesh during his address at the UP International Trade Show in Greater Noida. The state currently has an annual export volume of approximately ₹2 lakh crore and has set an ambitious target to increase this to ₹5 lakh crore by 2030, representing a 150% growth target over the next four years.
Minister Goyal emphasized that Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) are opening global markets to India, providing Uttar Pradesh's entrepreneurs with expanded international market access opportunities. This expanded market access through FTAs, combined with increased investments, tourism development, and international brand recognition for UP products, is expected to create new opportunities for the state's business community and contribute to its goal of becoming a $1 trillion economy.
Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a preferred investment destination supported by favourable industrial policies and proactive industrial schemes. The Minister noted that major corporations and global investors are arriving across sectors, creating new employment opportunities. The state is developing strength across modern sectors including defence, semiconductors, electronics, and other high-technology domains, with specific mention of a large robotics manufacturing facility expansion in Greater Noida as an example of this industrial growth.
Infrastructure development including expressways, modern airports, and industrial parks is supporting the state's trade and investment ambitions. The UP International Trade Show itself featured significant international participation with six partner countries, hundreds of delegates and exhibitors, and buyer-seller meetings, providing direct access to global markets for the state's diverse products, cuisines, and services.
Minister Goyal called for active participation and cooperation from the state's trade and industrial community, emphasizing the importance of coordination between central and state governments along with participation from citizens, youth, and stakeholders to support Uttar Pradesh's continued economic and export growth trajectory.
