Vice President of India Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan released the book 'Advantage India: Reshaping the Future for an Equitable World' authored by Shri Anil K. Antony at Uprashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi on October 23, 2026. The event was attended by Professor Ajay Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India; Dr. Shamika Ravi, economist and Member of the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council; and other dignitaries.
The Vice President highlighted India's remarkable transformation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, noting that more than 25 crore people have been lifted out of absolute poverty. He emphasized initiatives in education, housing, sanitation, healthcare, and food security that have enhanced dignity and social security for millions. The emergence of more than three crore Lakhpati Didis was cited as evidence of successful women-led development, while infrastructure expansion included new IITs, AIIMS, medical colleges, Vande Bharat trains, airports, highways, and railway stations.
Regarding technology, the Vice President stated that emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning present significant opportunities for India, drawing parallels to the country's emergence as a global IT powerhouse following initial computer apprehensions. He emphasized that "any new innovation or technological advancement should benefit the whole of humanity and should not remain the exclusive property of any one country," calling for a more equitable approach to technological progress.
The book explores India's emerging strengths and growing role in the international order, drawing on the author's experience in technology, business, and public policy. The Vice President noted India's expanding international influence, particularly during its G20 Presidency where it advanced the philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is one family) and contributed to the African Union's inclusion in G20. India's COVID-19 response was highlighted, with nationwide vaccination drives and vaccines extended to more than 100 countries.
The vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047 was described as both an aspiration and responsibility requiring collective commitment to Rashtra Pratham (nation first). The Vice President stressed that nation-building cannot be accomplished by government alone and requires active participation of every citizen.
