The Ministry of Women and Child Development, including all its Autonomous/Statutory Bodies, has initiated Special Campaign 6 from October 2 to October 31, 2026, focusing on improving Swachhata (cleanliness) and disposal of pending references. This campaign follows the pattern of similar special campaigns conducted in the preceding five years.
As part of the implementation phase, the Ministry will organize a dedicated one-day nationwide event on October 30, 2026, where various activities will be undertaken across all field institutions functioning under the Ministry's schemes throughout the country. A virtual meeting was held on October 21, 2026, at 4:00 PM under the chairmanship of the Additional Secretary (WCD) and Nodal Officer for Special Campaign to finalize the action plan. The meeting included all Joint Secretaries, Directors/Deputy Secretaries dealing with schemes, and 94 officers from States/UTs.
The key activities decided for the dedicated one-day event include large-scale cleanliness drives at field-level institutions, effective public grievance redressal through organized Grievance Redressal Chaupals and e-Chaupals specifically for Poshan Tracker and PMMVY (Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana) beneficiaries. All grievances received through these platforms must be addressed by October 30, 2026, with designated Grievance Redressal Officers (GROs) responsible for organizing the redressal mechanisms. All activities undertaken by field institutions will be properly documented and uploaded to the different mission portals of the Ministry for monitoring and transparency purposes.
