The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports concluded its fourth and final Regional Chintan Shivir in Lucknow on July 19, 2026, marking the end of nationwide consultations under the theme "Viksit Yuva for Viksit Bharat." The two-day event focused on converting ideas into actionable strategies for youth-centric governance and grassroots implementation, with the second day specifically centered on "Samadhaan Se Sankalp" (from resolution to solution).
Union Minister of State Raksha Nikhil Khadse addressed the session, emphasizing the pivotal role of youth officers in shaping the nation's future by inspiring young people to participate actively in nation-building. She noted that field functionaries' presentations on MY Bharat, Experiential Learning Programme (ELP), Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS), and Fit India reflected their grassroots commitment and practical understanding of local challenges.
Shri Shiv Ratan, Joint Secretary of Youth Affairs, highlighted the growing interest of various Ministries in partnering with MY Bharat, indicating the platform's emergence as a key vehicle for youth engagement. He stressed the need for state-specific solutions while remaining aligned with the national vision of Viksit Bharat, urging officers to deepen collaboration with State Governments, educational institutions, and local stakeholders.
Dr. Priyanka Shukla, CEO of MY Bharat, encouraged officials to adopt innovative approaches to youth engagement, emphasizing that the platform's success lies in empowering young people through meaningful opportunities for volunteerism, leadership, and community participation while documenting and scaling best practices across states.
The technical sessions covered the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) and Fit India, focusing on collaborative efforts across departments. Working groups presented recommendations on Nasha Mukt Bharat, Fit India, Gender Sensitisation, Youth Leadership and Volunteerism, Experiential Learning Programmes, community mobilisation, and institutional strengthening of MY Bharat and MY Bharat NSS.
Key outcomes included the Department's resolve to strengthen MY Bharat through greater grassroots outreach, institutional convergence, and collaborative governance. The deliberations emphasized deeper community engagement, behavioral change communication, stronger partnerships with educational institutions, technology-enabled program delivery, and continuous capacity building of field functionaries.
During the valedictory session, Uttar Pradesh was recognized as the best-performing state with the highest number of MY Bharat registrations, while the Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu achieved the highest registration percentage relative to its youth population. The recommendations from the Chintan Shivir will guide future program implementation toward creating Viksit Yuva as the foundation of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
