Regulatory Approval Details

Affordable Robotic and Automation Limited (ARAPL) announced that its subsidiary ARAPL RaaS Private Limited (Humro) has secured Conditional Approval from the US Department of War (DoW), as announced by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on October 30, 2026.

ARAPL RaaS (Humro) is among the first 13 robotics companies globally and the only Indian company to receive this approval following the introduction of the US government's revised regulatory framework for foreign-produced advanced robotic devices.

Approved Products

The approval covers ARAPL RaaS's (Humro) Maia2000 autonomous pallet trucks (V1, V3 and V4) and its Atlas AC2000 autonomous forklifts (V1, V2 and V4). The FCC has included these products in its list of advanced robotic devices granted Conditional Approval, exempting them from the FCC's Covered List restrictions.

Market Opportunity and Strategic Implications

The approval provides a strategic pathway for the company to access the U.S. autonomous material handling market, estimated at $150 billion, including potential opportunities in government procurement subject to applicable Buy American Act and other eligibility requirements.

This regulatory milestone could provide a distinct competitive advantage against low-cost international manufacturers and create opportunities for sustainable, long-term revenue growth. The approval follows the FCC's July 2026 inclusion of foreign-produced advanced robotic devices in its Covered List on national security grounds.

Compliance Requirements and Manufacturing Plans

The approvals are subject to continued compliance with the onshoring plans submitted by the respective companies and updated product vetting. As part of the Conditional Approval, ARAPL RaaS (Humro) is committed to commencing manufacturing in the US in phases over the next two years.

The company is actively looking to partner with like-minded local players to establish manufacturing operations in the country and is working towards meeting the requirements of the Buy American Act (BAA) and the Trade Agreements Act (TAA).

Technology Development

ARAPL RaaS (Humro) is advancing its next-generation robotics technology platform based on Vision-Action-Language (VAL) models, an emerging approach that enables robots to integrate visual perception, language-based instructions and physical actions.

The next generation of Humro robots is envisaged to be more human-like in their ability to perceive surroundings, understand instructions, make decisions and execute complex tasks. The technology will incorporate reinforcement learning capabilities, enabling robots to learn from experience, receive feedback, and continuously improve performance.

Management Commentary

Mr. Robinson Philipose, Co-Founder and CEO of Humro, stated: "This is a significant milestone for Humro and an important validation of our technology and our commitment to building globally competitive robotics solutions. Our team worked relentlessly to replace certain key components that did not meet the revised guidelines and completed modifications within a remarkably short period."

Mr. Milind Padole, Founder and Director of ARAPL Group, commented: "Securing FCC approval within such a short period demonstrates the strength of our team and the capabilities of our products. We are developing a new technology platform based on Vision-Language Action models for our next-generation robots."
