Supreme Court heard Bajaj General Insurance Ltd’s petition against Maharashtra over a Rs 75 crore deposit blocked by earlier order.
Court observed the funds had already been transferred to the State Treasury, amounting to approximately Rs 92.93 crore (rounded to Rs 93 crore).
The justices directed that Rs 93 crore plus accrued interest be redeposited with the Supreme Court registry within one week.
Upon receipt, registry will invest sum in a three‑month fixed deposit with a nationalized bank at the highest rate; hearing 22‑July‑2026.
