The Bank received a communication from an anonymous source claiming access to certain data. Upon receiving this communication, the Bank promptly activated its cyber incident response and containment protocols.
Response Actions
The Bank engaged an independent CERT-In empanelled cyber-security agency to conduct a comprehensive assessment and investigate the nature and extent of the alleged compromise.
Preliminary Findings
Based on preliminary findings available at this stage, the incident has been identified as a potential business email compromise. The Bank states that the incident is not expected to have any material impact on the Bank's operations, financial performance or business continuity.
Current Status
The Bank's core business functions continued to operate normally without disruption during this incident. A detailed assessment is currently underway, and appropriate remedial and preventive measures are being implemented as required.
