CFPB Plans Staff Return After Year-Long Closure

Leadership at the US Consumer Financial Protection Bureau intends to recall employees to Washington office after more than a year of remote work.
The agency’s headquarters remain partially occupied by the Office of Management and Budget, whose director Russell Vought also heads the CFPB.
A judge’s provisional order blocking the Trump administration’s plan to eliminate the CFPB remains in effect, keeping the workforce intact.
