A significant industrial dispute at Chhattisgarh Gramin Bank has been resolved through conciliation efforts led by the Regional Labour Commissioner (Central), Raipur, under the Ministry of Labour & Employment. The dispute originated from a proposed one-day strike call scheduled for 29 June 2026 by the All India Regional Rural Bank Employees' Association (AIRRBEA), Chhattisgarh Unit, concerning several long-pending employee and officer-related demands.

Through marathon conciliation proceedings held on 22 June 2026 from 11:00 AM to 8:30 PM, constructive discussions between bank management and employee representatives resulted in a tripartite Memorandum of Settlement executed under Section 53(3) of the Industrial Relations Code, 2020. This settlement led to the withdrawal of the proposed strike. The agreement is expected to benefit approximately 2,610 employees of the bank with an estimated financial implication of ₹15 crore. The timely intervention also averted an estimated one-day financial loss of ₹1.29 crore that would have resulted from the strike.

During the proceedings, the bank management, represented by the General Manager (Administration) and Chief Manager (HR), played a pivotal role in facilitating mutually beneficial compromises. The management was specifically sensitized about their statutory obligations under labour laws, with emphasis on timely payment of wages, working hours, and strict adherence to legal compliance requirements. The management assured the Ministry that appropriate corrective measures would be implemented to safeguard employees' rights and maintain robust compliance mechanisms.
