The Supreme Court allowed NHAI's appeal, overturning High Court decision that set compensation at ₹3,588 per sqm for Alfa Remidis Ltd's land.
The Court held the arbitrator erred by using a single residential sale deed, violating Section 26(1)(b) of the 2013 LA Act.
Compensation is now fixed at ₹2,020 per sqm, with ₹5,000,000 already withdrawn considered in the balance payment.
Each party bears its own legal costs as ordered by the Court.
