Supreme Court overturned the High Court’s decision that had awarded the 6th tender license for human‑hair collection to Kalawati Enterprises.
Court directed Kalawati Enterprises to pay additional Rs 2 crore plus the original Rs 14.01 crore bid within three months as stipulated in the order.
The dispute stemmed from 6th and 7th tenders for a license to collect devotees’ hair across Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Durai Enterprises had bid Rs 17 crore in the 7th tender, higher than the 6th tender’s Rs 14.01 crore award to Kalawati.
