Elecon Engineering paid ₹11,98,800 under protest to secure release of a detained transport vehicle over a GST name mismatch.
The Deputy Commissioner of State Tax, Enforcement, Div-8, Surat detained the vehicle on 30th March, 2026.
The company plans to file an appeal for refund and does not foresee any material financial or operational impact.
