The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has launched the Employees' Enrolment Campaign, 2026 (EEC 2026), effective from 29 June 2026, providing a special one-time opportunity for establishments to enroll eligible employees who remained outside EPF coverage during the period from 1 April 2009 to 31 March 2026. The campaign will remain open until 31 October 2026 and aims to facilitate voluntary compliance by employers while extending the benefits of provident fund, pension, and insurance to eligible workers.

Under EEC 2026, eligible employers can declare and enroll employees who were left out of EPF coverage during the prescribed period, provided these employees are alive and continuing in employment with the establishment on the date of declaration. The campaign offers specified relaxations to facilitate regularization of past compliance, including waiver of the employee's share where it was not deducted earlier, subject to the conditions outlined in the campaign guidelines.

Employers are required to complete the enrollment and remittance process through a prescribed online mechanism. This includes generating a Face Authentication-based Universal Account Number (UAN) through the UMANG App for each declared employee and remitting contributions through the Electronic Challan-cum-Return (ECR) system.

EPFO is undertaking extensive awareness and outreach activities to disseminate the salient features of EEC 2026 among employers, employees, establishments, contractors, and other stakeholders. Ministries and Departments of the Government of India, State Governments, Union Territories, Public Sector Undertakings, Autonomous Bodies, and other organizations are being encouraged to facilitate wider dissemination of the campaign among establishments and service providers under their administrative control.
