Trial Court Order: Appellant was directed to deposit an aggregate amount of Rs 31,32,119 (as of February 2025) via fixed‑deposit receipt in favour of the Competent Authority/District Revenue Officer, Chennai, within two months, as a condition for release of original documents.
High Court Position: Refused to modify the condition; earlier similar case (Criminal Revision Case No. 1926 of 2025) directed payment calculated up to March 2023.
Submissions: Appellant offered to deposit the amount with interest calculated till March 2023. Respondent State filed IA No.230870/2026 stating that as of March 2023 the balance sum was Rs 9,55,957, which the appellant did not object to.

The Supreme Court directs that if the appellant deposits Rs 9,55,957 before the trial court within two months from the date of this order, the original documents referred to in the trial‑court order dated 06‑03‑2025 shall be returned to the appellant.
The Court also orders that the Rs 15,00,000 already deposited by the appellant in the Supreme Court Registry be returned with any applicable interest, and that this amount be deposited before the trial court within the next two months.
The appeal is disposed in these terms; any pending applications, if any, stand disposed.
