LIC Receives ₹6,100 Cr Income Tax Demand FY2022

LIC received an income tax demand of ₹6,146.71 crore plus interest of ₹953.26 crore for FY 2021-22.
The demand was raised by the Assessment Unit, Income Tax Department, and received on March 25, 2026.
LIC stated no material impact on operations; the order is appealable before the Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals).
