Megastar Foods Limited has submitted a regulatory disclosure under Regulation 30 of SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015 regarding receipt of an addendum to its Eligibility Certificate from the Department of Industries & Commerce, Punjab, Chandigarh.
The company received an addendum to its Eligibility Certificate issued in terms of notification no. CC/AddI.Dir./Industrial & Business Development /2017/1369 dated 17.10.2017. The certificate grants the company 100% exemption from payment of electricity duty for a period of 15 years commencing from 18.11.2024 (being the date of commercial production after expansion). This exemption is granted under clause 10.1(iv), (v) of DSOG-2018 issued under IBDP-2017. Additionally, the company is eligible to receive incentives totaling up to ₹881.86 crore, subject to terms and conditions specified in the certificate.
The certificate was received on June 15, 2026. The financial impact disclosed states that the electricity duty exemption is expected to reduce operating costs and improve profitability over the exemption period.
