The Ministry of Women and Child Development has launched SHe-Box 2.0, a strengthened technology-enabled platform for implementing the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. Launched on August 29, 2024, the portal provides single-window access for women across organized, unorganized, public, and private sectors to register and track complaints of workplace sexual harassment.
The platform operates under Mission Shakti, the government's flagship program for women's safety, security, and empowerment, which provides an integrated framework for scheme convergence and institutional mechanism strengthening. SHe-Box 2.0 enables seamless coordination among stakeholders and strengthens the SH Act implementation framework through a more structured, monitorable system.
Key features include onboarding of State and District Nodal Officers for decentralized monitoring, a comprehensive repository of Internal Committees (ICs) across central, state, district offices and private sector entities, and inclusion of Local Committees (LCs) at the district level. The portal offers a secure, confidential, and user-friendly interface available in 22 languages, including Hindi and English, ensuring inclusivity and wider accessibility across diverse user groups.
This digital governance intervention reflects the Government of India's sustained commitment over the past 12 years to building a safe, inclusive, and empowered ecosystem for women, focusing on structural and policy interventions to enhance women's safety, dignity, and participation across sectors.
