NCLAT Chennai dismissed an appeal challenging an order disqualifying an advocate from representing a liquidator.
The advocate, R Subramaniam, failed to disclose his status as a judgment debtor with conflicting interests as required by IBBI regulations.
His license was suspended by the Bar Council, and he was convicted in a criminal case, further barring his representation.
The tribunal found the original order justified, citing violations of Regulation 7(3) of the IBBI Liquidation Process Regulations, 2016.
