Radio France, RTBF and RTS investigation alleges Nestle delayed alerting European authorities about cereulide toxin in infant formula.
The toxin originated from an ingredient supplied by China's CABIO Biotech, also used by Danone and Lactalis, prompting recalls in several countries.
Nestle says low cereulide levels were first detected in late November and it stopped using all mixes with the supplier’s arachidonic acid oil on Dec 24.
Shares rose after the news, with Nestle up 2.12% and Danone up 1.60%.
