Observations & Directions
1. During the hearing, parties reached a consensus.
2. New India Assurance Co Ltd agreed to pay a consolidated amount of Rs.7,00,000 (Rupees Seven Lakhs only) over and above the amount awarded by the High Court, as full and final settlement of all claims of the petitioner.
3. The petitioner agreed that upon receipt of the consolidated amount, he will have no further claim against the Insurance Company.
4. The petitioner shall furnish his bank account details to the Insurance Company.
5. Upon verification of the account details, the amount of Rs.7,00,000 shall be transferred to the petitioner within six weeks from the date of this order.
6. The Special Leave Petition is disposed of in the above terms.
7. Any pending applications, if any, shall stand disposed of.
