- Total Lease Area: 1276.79 Hect. (as per RoR) / 1276.949 Hect. (as per DGPS)
- Approved Mining Area: 965.423 Hect. (restricted). The balance area of 311.367 ha of forest land is excluded pending Forest Clearance (FC).
- Production Capacity: 1.8 Million Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA) of Iron Ore and 0.3 MTPA of Manganese Ore.
- Proposed Facilities: Installation of crusher of 100 TPH, 200 TPH capacity and Screening plant of 400 TPH and 200 TPH capacity.
- Proposal Context: The application was for a Fresh EC under the EIA Notification, 2006 and its subsequent amendments, processed under violation notification S.O. 804(E) dated 14.03.2017.
Conditions for EC Grant
The EAC's recommendation is subject to the following specific conditions precedent:
1. Uploading of written submission on PARIVESH Portal.
2. Extension of the mining lease status with validity beyond 15/08/2026 from the competent authority. In case of no extension, the proponent shall start the entire EC process de-novo.
3. Final order of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in W.P. 1394/2023 titled Vanashakti vs. Union of India.
4. Confirmation from Odisha Pollution Control Board regarding execution of a bank guarantee for an amount of ₹4.81 Crores for the implementation of the Damage Remediation Plan, Natural Resource Augmentation Plan and Community Resource Augmentation Plan (RP&NCRAP). These plans must be implemented within 3 years from the date of grant of EC.
Additional Specific Conditions
- The Environmental Clearance is restricted to the mining area of 965.423 ha only. The excluded forest land area (311.367 ha) must be physically demarcated on the ground by erecting closely spaced boundary pillars/fencing before commencement of mining operations. No activity is permitted in this area until all statutory approvals (including Forest Clearance) are obtained. An amendment to the EC must be sought from the Ministry before mining beyond 965.423 ha.
- No blasting shall be allowed within a 500 m distance from the railway siding without prior necessary permissions.
