During the hearing, the parties reached a settlement.

Oriental Insurance Company Limited (Respondent No.3) agreed to pay a consolidated amount of Rs.22,00,000 (Rupees twenty‑two lakhs) over and above the amount awarded by the High Court to the petitioner.
The payment is stipulated as full and final settlement of all the petitioner’s claims against the insurance company.
The petitioner must furnish his bank account details to the insurance company.
Upon verification of the account details, the amount of Rs.22,00,000 shall be directly transferred to the petitioner within a period of 30 days.

The Court expressed appreciation for the learned counsel and for the positive and spontaneous response shown by Ms. Santosh Chaudhary, Ms. Kalpana Nandury and Mr. Akarsh Deepak of Oriental Insurance Company Limited in settling the matter.

The Special Leave Petition is disposed of in the terms of the settlement, directing the payment as outlined above.
