Ponni Sugars Receives ₹93.5 Cr GST Demand Notice

Ponni Sugars received a GST demand cum show cause notice for ₹93.47 crore from the Additional Commissioner of GST and Central Excise, Coimbatore.
The notice alleges wrongful availing of Input Tax Credit on a Co-Generation Power Plant and non-payment of GST on certain services.
The company contends the demands are not legally tenable and will provide an appropriate reply and pursue legal recourse.
