Mr. Surinder Paul Kanwar, Chairman and Managing Director of the Company, has informed the Company that his appeal dated 15.04.2026 filed under Section 11 of the Passports Act, 1967 against the revocation of his passport has been dismissed.
The dismissal order was passed by the Joint Secretary (PSP) & Chief Passport Officer (CPO), Ministry of External Affairs on July 23, 2026, and was received by Mr. Kanwar on July 29, 2026.
Mr. Kanwar has stated that the appeal was disposed of without providing him any opportunity of representing his case, which he claims is contrary to the proviso to Section 11(5) of the Passports Act, 1967. This provision mandates that a reasonable opportunity must be given before disposing of an appeal.
Company Response and Next Steps
Mr. Kanwar is in the process of taking appropriate steps for filing a rectification/clarificatory/appropriate application regarding the said order.
Mr. Kanwar has assured the Company that he remains fully mindful of his fiduciary duties and will continue to keep the Board promptly informed of any material developments. He has advised that statutory authorities be informed accordingly in a fair and transparent manner.
