The survey will be conducted across 19 cities – Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi and Thiruvananthapuram – and seeks qualitative responses from households on the general economic situation, employment scenario, price level, household income and spending. The results are intended to provide useful inputs for monetary‑policy formulation.

M/s Hansa Research Group Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai has been engaged by the RBI to carry out the fieldwork for this round. Selected households will be approached by the agency, while any other individual may also participate by completing the linked online survey schedule. Completed schedules may be emailed to the contact address provided. The announcement is issued as Press Release 2026-2027/635 and is signed by Ajit Prasad, General Manager (Communications) of the RBI. The release provides the necessary contact details for stakeholders wishing to seek clarification or submit responses.

In summary, the RBI’s launch of the July 2026 UCCS expands its regular consumer‑confidence monitoring to 19 urban centres, engages a private research firm for execution, and invites broader public participation, thereby enhancing the data pool that informs its monetary‑policy decisions.
