Memorandum of Understanding between SEBI and Digital India BHASHINI Division

Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Digital India BHASHINI Division (DIBD) on November 3, 2026. The signing ceremony was attended by Shri Amitabh Nag, Chief Executive Officer of DIBD, and Shri Sandip Pradhan, Whole Time Member of SEBI, along with senior officers from both organizations.

DIBD operates as an independent division under Digital India Corporation, which is a Section 8 not-for-profit company established by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.

The MoU enables SEBI to leverage BHASHINI's comprehensive language translation technologies including Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), Text-to-Speech (TTS), Machine Translation, and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) capabilities. This integration will facilitate improved access to SEBI's services in regional Indian languages, enhancing financial accessibility across diverse linguistic demographics. Concurrently, the partnership will support the enhancement of BHASHINI's language models through the incorporation of securities market-specific terminology.

This agreement marks the initiation of enhanced cooperation between SEBI and DIBD, with the MoU coming into immediate effect from November 3, 2026. The collaboration represents a significant step toward digital inclusion in financial regulatory services through advanced language technology integration.
