The company had earlier informed the exchanges via intimations dated 17th April, 2025 and 1st December, 2025, regarding a Show Cause Notice (No. 01/GST/KOL-SOUTH/SCN/ADC/25-26 dated 16th April, 2025) issued by the Office of the Additional Commissioner, CGST & Central Excise, Kolkata South Commissionerate. The notice, issued under Section 74 of the CGST Act, 2017, had proposed a tax demand of ₹10,21,17,234 (₹10.21 crore) concerning alleged differences in unbilled revenue for the financial years 2017-18 and 2018-19.
Subsequently, this demand was dropped entirely vide Order No. 09/ADC/CGST&CX/South/Kol/25-26 dated 1st December, 2025, passed by the Additional Commissioner.
Thereafter, the company received a letter dated 3rd June, 2026 (received on 9th June, 2026) from the Office of the Assistant Commissioner, Park Street Division, Kolkata, intimating that the department (Appellant-Department) had filed an appeal under Section 107(2) of the GST Act, 2017 before the Commissioner (Appeals-I). This appeal challenged the original order dated 1st December, 2025 that had dropped the demand.
The current disclosure confirms the final outcome of this appeal. The Principal Commissioner (Appeals) CGST & CX, Appeal-I, Kolkata, vide its order dated 16th July, 2026 (received by the company on 23rd July, 2026), has set aside the appeal filed by the Appellant-Department.
The disclosure confirms that the matter is now concluded in favor of the company, with no financial impact as the original tax demand remained dropped. The details provided align with the requirements of sub-para 8 of Para B of Part A of Schedule III of the Listing Regulations for a change in the status of proceedings.
