Supreme Court allowed an employee's appeal against Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation, setting aside the Bombay High Court order.
The Court reinstated an Industrial Court order granting the employee back wages of Rs. 8,09,218 from October 1993 to January 2011.
Interest on the back wages was reduced from 12% to 8% per annum, with the original rate to be revived if payment is delayed.
The appellant-employee was awarded litigation costs of Rs. 1,00,000 and given specific deadlines for payment.
