The International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) has issued its first compliance certificate for a 15-metre multi-axle sleeper bus to Synaty Automotive Pvt. Ltd. under AIS-119 and AIS-153 standards, in accordance with Central Motor Vehicles Rules (CMVR) provisions. This certification represents a significant milestone for India's passenger transport sector, validating one of the longest permissible bus body configurations in the category.

The certified vehicle is designed for long-distance passenger transportation with specific focus on structural strength, emergency safety, fire safety, passenger movement, and travel comfort. The bus offers two configurations: a fully sleeper variant with 42 berths capacity, and a hybrid sleeper variant with 21 berths plus 42 seats capacity, providing an integrated solution for long-distance travel requirements.

Testing and certification covered all applicable requirements related to vehicle safety, structural integrity, passenger accommodation, and comfort as prescribed under relevant automotive standards and CMVR. The certification demonstrates ICAT's capability in evaluating advanced passenger vehicle configurations and supporting manufacturers in meeting regulatory and technical requirements.

During the certification handover, ICAT Director Saurabh Dalela emphasized that this achievement reflects ICAT's technical capabilities and reinforces their commitment to passenger safety, regulatory compliance, and technological advancement. Synaty Automotive Managing Director Naresh Kumar Yadav stated that the certification would strengthen the company's efforts toward developing safe, reliable, and comfortable solutions for long-distance passenger transportation.

ICAT continues to provide testing, certification, and homologation services to support the Indian automotive industry in enhancing vehicle safety, regulatory compliance, and technological innovation.
