Supreme Court dismissed the Special Leave Petition and ordered Union Bank of India to pay Rs 30 lakh to landlord.
The bank occupied the premises from 2013, renewed lease with 25% rent increase, and stayed until January 2026.
Court calculated use and occupation charges at Rs 55 per sq.ft., allowing Rs 12.50 already paid, totaling approx Rs 28.46 lakh.
Failure to pay within four weeks will attract interest of 12% per month and further remedies.
