Voltas Limited provides an update on a material litigation matter involving the company and a Joint Venture of OHL International, Spain and Contrack (Cyprus) Limited and Others. This disclosure is made pursuant to Regulation 30 of SEBI LODR Regulations.
The litigation involves claims and counterclaims between Voltas and OHL&C, with previous disclosures made on 14th August 2023, 1st October 2024, 6th February 2025, and 11th May 2026.
Legal Proceedings Update
The Court of Appeal (Qatar) had issued an order on 4th May 2026 that:
- Directed OHL International, Spain and Contrack (Cyprus) Limited (together referred to as 'OHL&C') to pay the Kentz–Voltas Consortium (KVC) outstanding amounts due under the subcontract
- Awarded compensation to KVC
- Ordered return of Bank Guarantees (advance and performance bank guarantee) to Voltas
OHL&C subsequently filed an appeal against this order before the Court of Cassation, Qatar (Supreme Judiciary Council of Qatar).
The Court of Cassation, Qatar issued an Order dated 30th August 2026 (English translation received on Monday, 31st August 2026) that dismissed OHL&C's appeal as inadmissible.
Current Status and Actions
With this dismissal, the Order dated 4th May 2026 from the Court of Appeal (Qatar) remains undisturbed and final. The company has already filed an application for execution of the 4th May 2026 Order. The Bank Guarantees furnished by the company have been cancelled. Voltas is actively pursuing recovery of the amounts awarded by the court.
