  • January 6, 2026: Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) conducted inspection under Section 23 of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974
  • January 28, 2026: GPCB issued Closure Direction under Section 33A of the Water Act, which was to take effect 15 days from its date
  • February 11, 2026: GPCB revoked the Closure Direction for a period of three months, before it was to take effect
  • May 8, 2026: Company applied for permanent revocation of the Direction
  • May 26, 2026: GPCB conducted further inspection
  • June 17, 2026: GPCB extended revocation of the Direction for further six months until December 2026

Regulatory Actions

Closure Direction required prohibition of manufacturing activity and closure of operations at the Facility. The Direction was issued due to non-compliance with the Water Act and conditions of the Consolidated Consents and Authorisation (CCA).

Financial Impact

No material impact on the financial position or operations of the Company except to the extent of EDC payment of ₹9,00,000 and Bank Guarantee of ₹8,00,000 furnished.

Internal Process Note

The Closure Direction and subsequent orders were received at and dealt with by the Facility's operations and environment teams. The Company acknowledges delay in disclosure and has strengthened its internal mechanism for escalation of communications from regulatory and statutory authorities to the Compliance Officer.
