Yatharth Hospital & Trauma Care Services Limited and its subsidiaries have received final assessment orders from the Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax, Central Circle-28, Delhi.
Company-Specific Demands:
- Yatharth Hospital: ₹29.66 Crores principal demand plus ₹11.42 Crores interest
- Assessment Years: 2014-15 to 2024-25 (all opened assessment years)
Subsidiary Demands:
- AKS Medical & Research Centre Private Limited: ₹8.50 Crores principal demand plus ₹2.48 Crores interest
- Assessment Years: 2022-23 to 2024-25 (all opened assessment years)
- Ramraja Multispeciality Hospital & Trauma Centre Private Limited: ₹5.64 Crores principal demand plus ₹2.04 Crores interest
- Assessment Years: 2023-24 only
Total Aggregate Demands:
- Principal: ₹29.66 Cr + ₹8.50 Cr + ₹5.64 Cr = ₹43.80 Crores
- Interest: ₹11.42 Cr + ₹2.48 Cr + ₹2.04 Cr = ₹15.94 Crores
- Grand Total: ₹59.74 Crores
Legal Proceedings Status
With the passing of these orders, the assessment proceedings for the mentioned assessment years stand concluded.
Next Steps
The Company and its subsidiaries are in the process of filing appeals before the CIT (Appeals) against the assessment orders for the respective assessment years, based on advice received from external tax consultants.
Financial Impact Assessment
Based on internal assessment, the Company is confident of obtaining substantial relief in the appellate proceedings and consequently expects a significant reduction in the aforesaid demands. Accordingly, the Company is of the view that no provision is presently required in the financial statements in this regard.
