AHMP CON 2026 – Chennai Edition Overview
The Association of Healthcare Marketing Professionals (AHMP) India Foundation concluded its AHMP CON 2026 – Healthcare Marketing Summit, Chennai Edition on 6 September 2026 at the Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education & Research, Porur, Chennai. The event convened 640 delegates representing healthcare organisations, hospitals, clinical practice, marketing agencies, technology firms and consulting houses.
Core Themes and Knowledge Programme
Built around AHMP’s philosophy of “Inspire. Innovate. Transform.”, the summit examined how healthcare marketing is evolving under the influence of technology, data, patient expectations, regulation and new communication channels. Sessions addressed the projected hospital marketing team of 2030, the impact of AI agents on roles and workflows, and the use of data, analytics and MarTech to drive measurable growth. A panel titled “The AI Hangover” reflected on lessons after the first wave of generative‑AI enthusiasm. Ethics and credibility were discussed in “Influence Is Earned, Not Filmed”, which explored doctor personal branding and the emerging doctor‑creator ecosystem. Another discussion linked healthcare brand valuation with business value and fundraising. The compliance‑focused session “Compliance Isn’t the Obstacle, It’s the MOAT” guided participants through navigating NMC, ASCI and DPDP requirements while building responsible brands. The final knowledge panel examined medical tourism and the factors influencing why international patients choose India and individual providers.
Vision 2030 and 2027 Priorities
The inaugural session, themed “Marketing the Future of Healthcare”, featured the presentation of AHMP Vision 2030, the launch of AHMP ASCENT, an opening film and a leaders’ spotlight. Building on existing initiatives—AHMP Dialogues, its learning platform, ASCENT, Professionals Day, AHMP Connect and the Healthcare Marketing Maestros Awards—AHMP outlined its 2027 roadmap. Priorities include expanding pan‑India engagement, growing a more inclusive professional community, strengthening continuous learning through CPHM and related programmes, establishing four zonal committees (North, South, East, West), deepening industry‑academia collaboration, and developing a structured framework for ethical healthcare marketing standards. Chairperson Mohamed Ilias emphasized that the summit demonstrated a clear need for a professional community to raise standards and that future focus will be on education, regional engagement, industry‑academia collaboration and responsible marketing practices.
Healthcare Marketing Maestros Awards 2026
The summit also hosted the Healthcare Marketing Maestros Awards 2026, recognising excellence across 27 gold and silver honours. Lifetime Achievement awards were presented to Ms. Suganthy Sundararaj, Senior Public Relations Specialist and Regional PR Head at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai (Female Lifetime Achievement), and Prof. Dr. Ashok Thiakarajan (Male Lifetime Achievement). Award categories spanned innovation, healthcare marketing education, patient communication, emerging talent, social media, digital campaigns, brand development, creative advertising, performance marketing and analytics, healthcare PR, community impact and disease‑awareness initiatives. Organisational winners included MI Labs / Askeva, Unicus Technology Private Limited, MGM Healthcare, BCC Healthcare Branding, Devadoss Hospital and Ortho-One. Student and young‑professional recognitions were given through the BizMock Awards and Digital Poster Awards, evaluated by an independent jury of industry and marketing professionals.
Partnerships, Networking and Experience Hub
AHMP CON 2026 was supported by platinum, gold and silver partners, as well as knowledge, media, filming, registration, venue partners and stall sponsors. In addition to the formal programme, networking sessions and an Experience Hub facilitated connections among hospital leaders, marketers, clinicians, entrepreneurs, consultants, agency heads, technology firms and solution providers, fostering potential collaborations.
Outlook
The conclusion of the Chennai edition marks the beginning of AHMP’s next development phase. As healthcare organisations adapt to AI, shifting patient behaviour, heightened regulatory scrutiny and rising expectations for transparency and trust, the role of healthcare marketing continues to expand. AHMP’s focus now shifts to translating conference momentum into broader reach, stronger professional connections, continuous education, regional representation, industry‑academia collaboration and clearer ethical standards.
