The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Ayush, is organizing 'Saushrutam 2026', a three-day international seminar from 15 to 17 July 2026, along with a one-day pre-conference workshop on 14 July 2026, on the occasion of Sushruta Jayanti. The inaugural ceremony on 15 July 2026 will be graced by the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, with Guests of Honour including Union Minister of State for Ayush and Health & Family Welfare Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Sardar Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Secretary of Ministry of Ayush Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, and MP Shri Ramvir Singh Bidhuri.

The seminar aims to provide an international platform for exchange of scientific knowledge, evidence-based surgical practices, technological innovations, and the surgical wisdom of Acharya Sushruta. The event will feature live surgical demonstrations including Robotic surgery (the first of its kind in an Ayurvedic hospital in India), general, laparoscopic, vascular, breast surgery, uro-surgery, and ano-rectal surgeries with dedicated sessions on proctology and reconstructive surgery, integrative oncology, medico-legal aspects, and intellectual property.

Scientific sessions will cover surgical principles of Acharya Sushruta, wound management, Agnikarma, Ksharasutra, Marma Chikitsa, and emerging research in Shalya Tantra. The seminar will witness participation of renowned academicians and surgeons from Austria, Greece, Indonesia, Israel, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the United Kingdom and India, along with more than 30 eminent national experts including Padma Shri Prof. M. Sahu and Padma Shri Prof. K.K. Thakral, and faculty from premier institutions including AIIA, IMS-BHU, NIA Jaipur, ITRA Jamnagar, AIIMS, SGPGIMS Lucknow, Government Medical College Agartala, and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital New Delhi.
