Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Chief of the Air Staff, undertook a flying sortie with Senior Wing Cadet Jakkula Tejasvi Reddy of the National Cadet Corps on October 20, 2026, at the Air Force Academy in Dundigal. The event occurred before the Air Chief's final flying sortie with his first flying instructor. As part of pre-flight preparations, the cadet underwent cockpit familiarization, safety briefings, ejection-procedure familiarization, and medical checks. Before boarding the Kiran aircraft, the CAS briefed her on its specifications, major components, engine functioning, cockpit procedures, and safety mechanisms. During the sortie, he explained various flight maneuvers, flight angles, and steep turns, and gave the cadet an opportunity to practice maneuvers under his guidance.

The sortie provided Cadet Tejasvi with practical exposure to aviation and encouraged her aspiration of becoming an aviator. It highlighted the opportunities available to NCC Air Wing cadets to gain experience in aviation and explore careers in the Defence Forces. The National Cadet Corps continues to expand its training activities to develop skills, confidence, and leadership among cadets, in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047, aiming to provide youth with opportunities to develop abilities and contribute to nation-building.
